Oroweat Sandwich Thins

These are my favorite find so far since I started trying to lose weight! They are called Sandwich thins and the brand is Oroweat. The best deal on them is Costco. I love them! I have used them for sandwhiches, hamburger buns, pizza, hot dog buns, and garlic bread. They are AWESOME! they are 100 Calories for one bun but they have 6 grams of fiber!! If you are a weight watchers person like me that means only 1 point! Can't beat that! I highly recommend them!

Spinach.....YUMMY0 -
They are so good. I've been in love with them since they came out. I like to make a breakfast sandwich out of them, eggs (actually 1 egg & 2 whites scrabbled) with cheese, canadian bacon and some veggies. Yummy!!! They do make amazing pizza's too. Hungry-girl.com has a great recipe for the pizza's where you use a 1 point (I use/kind of still do WW) string cheese for the cheese, turkey pepperoni (yummy), etc.0

The Orowheat Sandwich Thins are only available in Whole Wheat at Costco in my area, but other stores (including Walmart) carry them in their other flavors: Multi-Grain; Honey Wheat; and the new "Whole Grain White. I have tried all except the White, and like the Honey Wheat the best. Pricewise, Walmart and Fred Meyer (Kroger) and Winco, often have packages of 8 for less per bun, than those at Costco. The package available at Costco has 16, and in my area, sells for $4.39, but I just bought 2 pkgs of 8 for $1.78/ea, or $3.56 for 16 of them at Winco.
What I don't like is the amount of sodium in them, which is why I am happy to report there is another "Sandwich Thin" out there, with the same 100 calories and about the same amount of fiber, but about HALF the sodium. I am referring to "Earth Grains" brand, which I have found at Safeway, but I imagine they are available elsewhere, just haven't seen them anywhere else thus far. The Multi-Grain version of these has the better flavor (to me) than the Whole Wheat.
BTW, all varieties MUST be good, as I have a Yorkshire "Terror"--not a type, he really is a "terror"  who LOVESthese and will just about stand on his head to get one....or (to him) better yet, SEVERAL. This little gymnast has gone so far as to knock a package off the edge of my kitchen counter and scarf all eight of them down. He has, on more than one occasion, snuck into my work totebag and snagged a package from it and eaten whatever was in there--as many as six at a time. He may be part goat!!!

I love these as well, I was a bit apprehensive as to how they would taste compared to bread, but I really enjoy them. Going to have to try the pizza idea.....:)0
