Hey guys. Just bought a FitBit. I haven't received it yet, but I linked my MFP and the FitBit app.
Just wondering if anyone has figured out the best way to log exercise calories burned.
Do you use a HRM and log the time started/calories burned on MFP, and then let MFP sync it with FitBit.
I understand that FitBit doesn't do well counting cardio calories because it works off of an equation rather than heart rate. I have a HRM that I use for exercise. Should I continue using it only during exercise and then let FitBit do its thing for the rest of the date and let the apps sync and figure it out?
Will this be the best way to get an accurate read for "calories out" for the entire day?
Any advice/opinions as far as what has worked for you?

I do not log my individual exercises in MFP. I let my fit bit adjust my calories burned. If it is linked, then it will adjust automatically.
The fitbit will not be 100% accurate, but seems to work pretty well for me. I have lost about 30 pounds this way.
You could push a button on your fitbit to let it know you are doing an activity(push again to stop). From there you can adjust on the website the exact number of calories per your HRM. There are many different options, but you just need to find what works best for you!
I like just using the fitbit, because I know my actually calories burned is probably a little higher. Hope this helps!!
You will love your fitbit!!0
