Food NSV!

This is DEFINITELY a nonscale victory, since my scale hasn't moved for a really long time, but I guess it's a victory that I finally realized why! I've been consistently under my calories for weeks, and not a single pound down. In fact, I was (maybe) gaining a little. Which didn't make sense.

Here's the problem: every night I eat chicken. Sounds healthy, right? It's KFC, so it's cheap and convenient, and has some carbs on the outside so it's a balanced meal. I was previously logging this as "chicken" which was clocking in at 47 calories per piece. Not bad. Today I realized that I was logging it wrong, and that there's a KFC chicken entry! One of those things is 120 calories!! I've been WAY over my calories and I didn't even know it!

Please be careful that you are logging things correctly! You could be sabotaging yourself without knowing it. Yay me for my NSV!

I say stay with chicken logging. That KFC character seems sketchy. I wouldn't believe him if I were you.

  • KFC is cheap?

I love friend chicken, but I probably only eat it 5x a year. Baked, roasted or lightly oiled skillet with no flour.

    SOULMATES

But yeah... after this, I am not gonna be able to eat fried chicken for a while. I'm kind of scarred.

    Find someplace with rotisserie chicken!

Frankly, 120 still sounds low. Check out http://www.kfc.com/nutrition/

i would advise against a rotisserie chicken as it has the word rot in it.

    Wow. Really good point.

Also, it's important not to eat food with ingredients that you can't pronounce.

This is an excellent point. I've lost a lot of weight on this diet. Finally my speech impediment is good for something.

Good for you! Excellent NSV to learn more about the food you're eating. Not only were you eating more calories than you thought, but the nutritional density is very different between the two. Small occasional differences won't matter, but being off by more than 100% on something you're eating every day is important. Nothing's perfect, but the more accurate you can be and the more you can learn about nutrition and food, the more you can use that knowledge to be healthier! Great job!

I assumed it was with pickles. Should've known it was with a dirty banana.
