Hi,
I'm an older guy, 68 and active, looking to connect with folk who are either at the same stage, or merely beginning to contemplate it as an approaching certainty.
I have been on MFP about six weeks, and am currently moderating my program from weight-loss to weight-maintenance. I tend to follow a fairly flexible and dynamic approach, rather than trying to force a boot-camp style regime on myself. The "slack" tends to get taken up with a combination of under-eating days and some fairly intense cardio (walking or cycling). So, while I have days when I pretty much eat as I please and days when I am barely fed at all, a weekly summary of the data puts me several thousand calories below my quota for the period. It works for me, and I am a results sort of guy.
It might sound like boot-camp, but in fact it's a doddle.
I make occasional comments on the diaries and blogs of friends. Have a definite fondness for bloggists as, I enjoy a good read to stimulate my own efforts in that direction. And rarely does a day pass by without me logging on...
No closed diaries, please.
