Net calories

So to make sure I understand correctly, your net calories are basically what you've eaten in a day based on activity, so they shouldn't be extremely low right? Or some people just don't eat any back and don't care? But isn't getting a 300-800 net extremely low? Or am I missing something??

There are a couple of posts that I'd urge you to read through. They are long and complicated, but well worth a good read.

Yeah, your net is supposed to be your goal. Nets of 300 are "bad".0

Your net calories is your goal- so if your target is 1600, you want your net calories to come close to 1600 at the end of the day. A more complete explanation is in that P-Rex linked to. But, you don't want the net to be 300 or 800, it doesn't help lose fat to have a low net.0

Calories eaten - calories from exercise = net calories.
That's the "MFP way".
Alternately, you can work out your calorie needs based on TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure); which has exercise factored in, and eat more of a flat amount every day. I believe the In Place of a Roadmap lays that out in great detail.0 -

This is what I do but I have quite a few friends who have the 300-800 net amounts often and I was like wait to I have it wrong lol0 -
