53 year old guy here and have been on MFP since Nov 12, ever since I found out my waist was bigger than my chest! Am pretty lucky as at 5'9" and 164lbs I wasn't really overwieght - bits were just in the wrong places.
I'm a runner, ok, jogger, alright I jog walk a few times a week and want to be able to run a marathon by the end of the year. Right or wrong I decided to try and lose fat and get down to 147lb then 'beef' up with LBM and get back to the 164lb mark (accepting some of it will be fat). I do a little resistance band training and proud to say I can do the plank for 90 seconds now.
Today I'm 152lb and my BF% is down from 23.4 to 15.9 (my calipers suggest 14lb fat loss and 3lb LBM gain). Whilst I'm happy with progress my last weigh in loss was 2lb and most of that was LBM so, should I start my weight gain now or try to get down to my target weight and just hope I don't lose more LBM than fat?
