Too Much Water?

Is it possible to be drinking too much water?
Recently I have upped my water intake but seem to be losing less of it during the day. I do some form exercise everyday (gym or swimming with the last two days being swimming) and always stay either at or just below my recommended calorie intake (not counting the additional exercise allowance) but over the last few days have not lost any weight. Infact I put on 1.5 lbs since yesterday despite exercise and eating below my intake amount. I had 10 glasses of water though and I know I did not expel that much.
My BMI, and LBM have reduced though.
Could my muscles be retaining the water to recover from the exercise?
Any thoughts would be welcome?

It is possible to drink too much water, but thats only if thats all you're drinking and eating very nutrient lacking food.
Anyone who is eating well balanced healthy meals (and possibly a multi) would have a hard time drinking "too much" water.
I looked at your diet, you're right- under and for the most part healthy. I don't think you should worry unless it stays for extended periods of time. Give it some time, and try to reduce the salt in your diet a little (I don't know if you add salt to anything as it is).
Also, sometimes it helps to have a nice big cheat day to trick the mind... Maybe you've been in this loosing fat state for too long, and your body is fighting it? try a cheat day every now and then to spike your calories. It worked for me in 2010. The problem was 1 cheat day turned into many... so keep the food healthy, jusst eat more once every week or two - possibly 600-800 more calories than usual. Don't be surprised if you gain a bit of weight the next day, but it won't stay- it's water weight for the most part
Congrats on all the loss so far!0 -
Yes, it is possible, but probably not at 10cups, particularly if you exercised as well that day. Excessive water intake can cause sodium and potassium depletion. Potassium depletion can cause serious heart problems. Everything in moderation. Take care.0
