3 Day Military Diet?

So I looked into it a couple of times, and my sister-in law already bought all the food for it, but is waiting to start it because she's afraid of starving all day. I'm just curious about it. I kinda want to try it, but don't really think it sounds very safe. I'm worried I would be weak and famished. So you do this for three days, and then eat healthy for four. And if you want, you can start it over again the next week. Apparently, you can lose up to 10 pounds. Has anyone heard of this? Does it seem unhealthy?

DAY 1:
Breakfast--1/2 Grapefruit, 1 Slice of Toast, 2 Tablespoons of Peanut Butter, and Coffee or Tea
Lunch--1/2 Cup of Tuna, 1 Slice of Toast, and Coffee or Tea (any brew, as long as it's caffeinated)
Dinner--3 ounces of any type of meat, 1 Cup of Green Beans, 1/2 Banana, 1 Small Apple, and 1 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream
DAY 2:
Breakfast--1 egg, 1 Slice of Toast, and 1/2 Banana
Lunch--1 Cup of Cottage Cheese (Or 1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese), 1 Hard Boiled Egg, and 5 Saltine Crackers
Dinner--2 Hot Dogs, (no buns), 1 Cup of Broccoli, 1/2 Cup of Carrots, 1/2 Banana, and 1/2 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream
DAY 3:
Breakfast--5 Saltine Crackers, 1 Slice of Cheddar Cheese, and 1 Small Apple
Lunch-1 Hard-Boiled Egg, and 1 Slice of Toast
Dinner--1 Cup of Tuna, 1/2 of a Banana, and 1 Cup of Vanilla Ice Cream

I don't think it matters what the food is exactly, it just looks like a low calorie diet.

It isn't going to hurt you for 3 days, but I don't think you'll lose 10 pounds either.

Loads of threads on this if you run a search. The human body cannot tell the difference between a famine and a crash diet.

I wonder why it's called a "military diet"? My ex is in the Navy and he's up to his *kitten* in turkey bacon and egg white omelettes every morning. Screw peanut butter and grapefruit, that looks miserable.

Three of my coworkers just did this diet. One stayed the same weight, one last 2 pounds and the other gained 5 pounds. They were all miserable, hungry, and suffered from caffeine headaches.

Did it once a long time ago. I lost weight and it wasn't that bad actually. But it's not a lifestyle. The day you decide that you don't need to do this diet anymore is the day you start gaining weight again.

Show me a military mess hall that regularly provides grapefruit!
