So, I love to bake, and am pretty good at it if I can say so myself! I love trying out new things, and I find it very therapeutic.... I generally take it into work so that I don't have it sitting in my house, or I will end up eating it myself!
However, I find it very difficult! I needtokeep saying to myself, don't eat, don't eat, don't eat!i normally do taste, but I think that's ok, in moderation! The problem is I taste the batter, then one of the first batch, just to check, and then the second batch etc!!!
Any tips on how to stop myself eating what I make??? Please don't say "stop baking" because it would be a shame to have to.....

Even though I eat healthy my bf and my kids love their unhealthy baked goods. I love to bake so I of course still bake for them. I actually prepare a plate of hummus and veggies and leave it out nearby when I'm baking. I still taste the stuff I bake, but before its cooked because..that's how I bake and cook. I taste everything (very small taster spoons), even if I don't actually eat it..if that makes sense.0

I love to bake too... I just made a batch of chocolate cupcakes with basil buttercream icing, which were amazing!! Before that was a matcha cheesecake, so good.
I have three guidelines when it comes to baking:
1. I'm allowed to have some of it
2. I try to time my baking so I can take it to class or give it away... the worst is baking on a Friday and it sits on my counter tempting me all weekend!
3. I try to make smaller amounts so it's easier to give everything away
So for example, with the cupcakes I cut down the recipe so it would only make 8 to begin with. I kept 2 for myself which I cut in half and I ate them over 4 days and worked it into my calorie allotment. The other 6 were taken care of by boyfriend and friends. It also helps me to tell people to expect whatever baked good I'm going to make the next day... that way I can't get out of control and eat them all!!

You say you like to try new things (me too). You could tinker with some of your favorite recipes to make them lower cal, denser, healthier, etc. while keeping them delicious. You would be doing mankind a favor because everyone is looking for recipes that are delish and fit in our menu goals.0

I love to bake too, but now only do it for special occasions. These days I make soup instead - it's just as much fun but the results are MUCH healthier.0

my other half and I have a deal - if we manage 2 gym trips in the week, then I'm allowed to bake and we share whatever I've made. plus I tend to half each recipe so there's less temptation.0

Can you bake in smaller quantities? Instead of a multiple batches, how about one smaller batch? I've seen recipes for single serving sizes of cake or brownies, so maybe that's an idea to experiment with.0

i like baking
what i have found to be effective is to change what i am baking. right now i am baking a pumpkin granola. opt for baking healthy muffins, not so caloric cobblers or spiced apples. i try to limit regular cookie or cupcake baking to birthdays or special every now and then occasions vs an every week sort of thing.0 -
I LOVE to bake. It helps to chew sugar free gum while you do it so you already have something sweet in your mouth. Getting into new, healthier recipes is also helpful because it still allows you to be creative, have fun and relax and is helping you put better stuff into your system (not saying you're not, that's just my experience). As someone mentioned, holiday bake fests are also helpful because then you can bake the 'regular' stuff, try a small amount and give the rest away. Drink water with the gum too. It helps.0

All things in moderation. This applies to both the baking, and the eating of the baked goods. Some is fine, but you've already acknowledged that you may be going too far. Maybe just scale back and try baking 1/2 as often as you're doing now? if you're successful there and feel okay with where your at, go with it. if instead you still feel like it's too much, slowly cut back more till you reach a point where you still get the enjoyment from the baking you're looking for, but not the guilt.0
