Rush are always an awesome gig!
Queen were fantastic. As were Genesis.... and Aerosmith... and the Rolling Stones (years ago, I wish I could've afforded to go see this time too)
Worst one ever was a Meatloaf gig, I couldnt work out which song was which, in fact he'd got almost halfway through Bat out of hell before I (and a lot of the audience realised it was that song!)
I like you0 -
Alice Cooper Silver Screen Tour (1978ish)
Weird Al Yankovic Poodle Hat Tour
Roger Waters' The Wall0 -
A lot of what I like was touring 30 years ago
so I don't go to many concerts
I did see Elton John when I was 15. That was awesome
Roger Waters a few years ago
Pearl Jam, when I was 13
Robbie Williams. He puts on a great show0 -
Beach Boys...late 70's; outdoor venue, dancing in the rain on a muddy hill
The rest in the early 80's:
Rush (all 4 times), Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, J Giles...quite a few more that are kinda hazy memories :smokin:0 -
- Rolling Stones 1975 Tour of the Americas 3x in a row at Madison Square Garden
- Bob Dylan, I think it was 1974, lucked out in the ticket lottery and ended up with 14th row center, amazing, D1ck Cavett was like 20 rows behind me, in Madison Square Garden
(edited because it wouldn't let me put "Richard" Cavett's first name!)0 -
Hands down - New Kids on The Block back in 2008 when they reunited - Atlanta at the Phillips Arena - *swoon*0

Misfits and GWAR same show one night o fun!
oh booo, I've seen the misfits too many times, Gwar ,once, that was enough.sorry, going to copy my reply from the previous thread, but I'd like to add the 999 show at the West Catty Playground and Bauhaus with Daniel Ash.
The 2nd Lollapalooza - Red Hot Chili Peppers, Ministry, Ice Cube, Soundgarden, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Pearl Jam, Lush, Jim Rose Circus, Porno for Pyros, Basehead, Cypress Hill, House of Pain, Seaweed, Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E., Stone Temple Pilots, The Vulgar Boatmen, Rage Against the Machine + many more............
1992 in Orlando, FL... during an evacuation of the state for Hurricane Andrew, Eddie Vedder climbing to the top of the scaffolding......and the best part? It was the first time I saw Lush.
* wait! My Bloody Valentine was good too. But maybe I like the CD better? hmmm.....this is hard.
** wait again... I think I liked Tom Verlaine better.0 -
it was metallica and guns n roses back in i believe 93
also saw u2 in vegas .those would have to be the two best shows ive seen0 -
hmmm. Most of them I barely remember (I am a child of the 60's
) How ever 2 that stand out are an Elton John concert at Arrowhead Stadium and a 4th of July Concert at UT in Austin 1974 I think (ZZ Top, Santana, and many others) - they ran out of ice and someone stole my MC Helment- grrrr. I remember I walked out of an Alice Cooper one in Lawrence KS, my date was pissed but I would have left without him. I didn't appreciate the deadbaby props thrown about the stage. Ahhh - wish I could remember more (or maybe it's better I don't) :blushing:

I've been to WAY too many concerts to count, but I have to say that the very best show I've been to, ever, was the KMFDM show in 2011 that I went to. I showed up early early because my mom & I got in a fight when I was getting ready at her place on my way to the show. It was 100F outside at like 5:15 when I got there, and I was just going to camp out front until I could go in, at least I'd be on the rail. Well, Sascha & Lucia were out front meeting fans, smoking a cigarette, and I got to meet them. Then it turned out that there was a meet & greet that they had put on Twitter that I didn't know about, and I was the only one there already that didn't have admission for it. Sooooo.. they let me come on in anyways. I got to hang out with my favorite band of 27 years, I got to meet their daughter and talk with the most gorgeous Italian boys ever too. Yeah.....
I have about a bazillion of these stories. My top 10 concerts ever:
KMFDM - 2011
Peter Gabriel - 2011
The Cult - 2009
Combichrist - 2011
Depeche Mode - 2009
Peter Murphy - 2011
VNV Nation - 2008
NIN - 2008
Emilie Autumn - 2011 (I can't wait to see her again in 3 weeks!)
Love & Rockets - 1999 (one of their last shows ever, and I was 'with the band' - and the only one of these that I'll cite when I was with my exhusband)
And I'm pretty damn sure that all of these will be trumped by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in April.
Um... yeah - music is my whole life, and live music more than most.0 -

Gene Loves Jezebel/New Order/Echo & the Bunnymen in 1987 Saw it in Berkeley - that WAS a good show.
LOVE seeing FISHBONE live too! so fun!
The Wolfgang Press - 1991? 1992? for their Queer album tour <--- awesome
Paul Weller - First time I saw him 1992? 1993? for his first solo tour. swoon!0 -
it's been many years since the last time i went to a concert, but my top 3 would be something like this...
- U2 when they were still playing arenas back in early 1985 (The Unforgettable Fire tour).
- The Cure in 1987.
- Gene Loves Jezebel/New Order/Echo & the Bunnymen in 1987.
WOW.... Man, I *wish* I'd been able to see some of those. *snarf* I've been to two incredible Cure shows - once was when they shot Hard Rock Live for VH1, one of two times I've flown to NYC, and I was a VIP guest... I still wish I lacked enough morals to swipe that DAT tape. And then a few months later, the promo show they did at The Palace in LA, both were for Bloodflowers and among the first shows they played for the Dream Tour. Love that band. I missed them on the last tour because of conflicts and reschedules.0 -
Radiohead in the Woodlands, 2001. It was such a great concert it was almost like a religious experience.

This is a weird range of music, but The Ramones, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings (unbelievable live), Neko Case, Daniel Lanois, The Beatfarmers, Paul Kelly.
All created a live experience that can't be replicated in their recorded music.0 -
