Has anyone used Kahtoola Microspikes for hiking in the winter? Do they work better than Yaktrax? My first set of Yaktrax fell off my first hike with them and I want to make sure I don't leap into another purchase.

Yes, way way way better than Yaktrax. One of the things I love about the Microspikes is how easy they are to put on and take off. I carry them backpacking in the summer to cross snowfields (as well as hike in them in the winter). Don't even have to take my pack off to put them on and take them off.

They are awesome. You won't be disappointed.

I'm another in favour of micro spikes - waaaaay better than Yak Trax. I have them in my pack pretty much year round and love the fact that I can get them on and off without having to drop gear first. Get them - you won't be sorry!
