Creating your own food item

I created a pita from a place I love. they have a nutritional chart of everything so all I did was add everything I put in my pita and use the numbers it comes up with for me but the problem is, I don't know how accurate it is and you'll probably never know unless they used measuring tools. and it depends on the person who makes it for you.
I go here: http://pitafactory.com/menu.php
You can look at my food dairy for today and see the info for the pita I love to order. I always wondered if these pitas have been way over the whole time I've been eating them, or they're very very close.
I could make my own, but it would have to be at a time where chicken isn't so damn expensive. But I like to order sometimes and take a break from making my meal. It's better than McDonald's or any other traditional fast food place. Even better than Subway. And they use real chicken breast on the grill. They grill it up right in front of you and it tastes and feels real.

If they overestimate- great! (per anyone wanting to lose weight.) You're counting more calories than you're actually eating.
You can look up the ingredients in the pita and put each ingredient in your log by itself. You can always reference the U.S. food database.
You should do it at least once (look at the u.s. database numbers) and then look at the numbers the Pita Factory provides. If it is close - don't worry; but if their numbers seem too low- overestimate. If their numbers seem to high, assume it is the oil/fats used for cooking.
The only problem is their marinades/sauces. They probably aren't sharing the ingredients and measurements, and they may use fats/oils which are high in calories. And if you do not account for that you could be thinking you're doing well, but in reality be underestimating and extending the time to reach your goals.0 -

Well it's not like i eat them all the time. So I guess it's not bad. And I want to try a different type next time and use dijon instead0 -
Yeah, not bad at all. It's just a little frustrating when you come to log something accurately and the food item has multiple entries with different values.0

Tell me about it.... lol
Well I've been doing good so far eating them. No fat gain but no fat loss, either which is better than fat gain. Plus, I'm trying to rebuild muscles so...a little bit extra for me is not all that bad.0
