I'm just starting out and MFP carb goals is 195 g per day. Isn't this a LOT?

    Yes. Most people on the forums reccomend switching your carb/protein/fat percentages to 40/30/30.

    You can change that in My Home>Goals>Change Goals>Custom.
    There you can also see how many calories the site thinks you'll burn a day, your projected weight loss and change how many calories you eat per day.

    I guess it depends on your own personal goals. Some people (like myself) train harder and longer on a lot of carbs. Some people love to train fasted (I could never do).

    General guidelines:

    1 g protein per pound of lean body mass
    .33 g fat per pound of total weight
    fill in the rest with carbs.
