I know many people eat healthy during the week and allow a cheat day or cheat meal on the weekend of their favorite food or whatever they want. I would suggest eating a cheat meal instead of a cheat day. Eat healthy during the day then have the cheat meal and continue to eat healthy. For me when I would take a cheat meal it wold turn into a whole day of cheating and eating what I wanted.

As for the healthy foods, I would consider them anything that could go bad in a week like vegetables and meat. To be healthy I would avoid all fast food, sodas, junk food, sugary drinks and snacks. These types of foods tend to be triggers and make you crave more and more. I'd o think the cheat meal or day is a good idea though, if you eat healthy all the time and never eat some of your favorite foods you might feel like you can't have them and go on a binge and eat a whole lot more of the cheat foods.

It's just a balance thing you need to work on and figure out for yourself, everyone in the world can offer opinions on what they do. But in the end it's your body and you need to figure out what is good for you. Whether that is two cheats day s a week or just eating healthy an having a cheat day once a month.

It's generally recommended that junky/ refined/ fatty/ sugary/ processed rubbish should be no more than 10% of daily calories for health, if you want to save this up for a weekly cheat meal go ahead. You might find it easier if you stop mentally separating food into healthy and tasty, the implication being that you cannot like any healthy foods and that they are tasteless and unpleasant. If you think like that subconsciously you will feel deprived and set yourself up for failure.

You don't have to eat dry chicken breast, plain veggies and boring salads to be healthy - stir fries, seafood dishes, eggs, curries, smoothies and soups can all be delicious. Dairy products are important for health so you can have cheese, cocoa powder is packed with minerals and fibre so you can have something chocolate-y and of course there is peanut butter. The less salt and sugar you eat often the less enjoyable it becomes, your tastebuds become able to appreciate subtle flavours.
