Thirty-something losing forty-something! Using body bug!

Hi! I'm 37 and the mom of twin 4 year olds. I wish I could blame them for my weight issues but the fact is, I've been overweight basically my entire life. I think somewhere in my head, I've decided I'm supposed to be?? I'm trying very hard this time but I know that my downfall is with 'sticking with it'. If I have a bad day or week, I'll give up. OR if I have a bad week and DON'T gain (cause I've revved up my metabolism), I'll think that I can cheat WAY more than I should...

So I know what my issues are... and I'm determined to not fall into their traps this time. I'm making small goads to start and I've lost 7 so far. My first goal is to get down another 12 pounds. That will be so encouraging. I think I might adjust my calorie intake at that point to lose slower... I can't live on 1200 forever!!

Would anyone like to hang out on this journey and support each other? Add me! tanyajo13 :flowerforyou: I've never joined a site like this and made friends for support... maybe that's what's been missing for me?

Here's to many successes for each of us!!!

I've struggled with being overweight my entire life. One lesson I've learned (and fairly successfully incorporated into my environment) is that IF I give in to a "trigger" food (cake, cookie, candy), I have given myself permission to abandon my diet for a week or two or three. I have never eaten just one cookie; I eat one and before even tasting it I am thinking of how the next one will taste. No cookie sees daylight in my house! It's tough with having little kids around, but at 4 yrs old, you can help them build good eating habits by not having trigger foods around that may tempt you. Maybe this has not been a problem for you, but I know it is for me. SO, without trigger foods, I feel much less self-loathing because I am better equipped to stick with my plan. I'm curious how you like your body bug. I've been using a Fitbit for a couple of months and I love it!
