Hi all,

Brand new to MFP and started on Thursday (19th Jan 2013). Going on holiday in July/August time and do not want to be a 200lb woman in shorts and t-shirt whilst everyone else is in a swim suit.

Was a size 12 from age 16 to 21. Then went to uni and started piling on the pounds. Am now a size 18/20, unhealthy and unhappy.

Have tried diets before and have done really well and lost over 2 stone. I then coasted, false sense of entitlements etc and started putting the weight back on. Am using MFP to not just lose weight, but to get an overall balanced diet to feel better and am liking that the system gives you a break down of carbs, fats, protein, iron, sodium etc so you can see what your diet is needing.

Can see cutting back on the chocolate/cake being the hardest part for me as I also bake as a hobby, but step by step I'll hopefully get there.

Have had a look on some of the boards and everyone seems super supportive which is so great. Hopefully see you on the boards,

TTFN,

dont want to sound like an ***hole, but you will need to cut most of the chocolate and picking while baking! not saying totally, if it fits into your macros then great!

the 40:30:30 or Zone diet may be beneficial to you. on average people lose 0.4lbs a day (almost 3lbs a week)

Message me and i can help you out if you wish

Im a Personal Trainer in the making and just finished the module on Nutrition, so dying to test out my new-found knowledge :)
  • Thanks for the welcome,

LBeeby87: It's not the picking whilst baking that's the issue, as I don't do it. It's the eating of the cake once the baking has finished that is the issue lol! I am trying to limit my baking to cakes for friends but they invariably give me a slice of the cake too.

And I know I have to cut out a lot of what I currently eat, but from what I've seen calories wise, it doesn't seem like I have to cut it out completely which is excellent to know :)
