I just bought the Polar to help me calculate calories burned while I workout. I bought a FSC3 and I dont think it shows calories burned. It just shows me my heart rate. Is there a simple way to calculate calories burned on my own or should I take this one back and buy a more expensive one? This one was $90.00:ohwell:

I don't know of a way to calculate calories. I got the Sportline Duo 1010. It shows many different views of heart rate and it shows calories. Best of all it was only $69.99.

I'm happy with it so far. You can wear it with or without the chest strap. Without the strap you don't get a continuous readout of heart rate. So you'll usually want to wear it while exercising. But if you just want to check your resting pulse or wear if for your normal watch you could just touch the case and it'll give you a readout.

There is also a women's version, the Duo 1025 for $89.99.

I just looked at the website and I think your right.
I dont think yours will show calories burned.
I just bought the FT4F for $89.95 model #90036750 it includes a chest strap
and it shows calories burned, heart rate and duration.
It saves your last 50 workouts in the memory so you can see improvement or not.
The whole reason I bought one was so that I could see the calories burned, without one everything else is
    simply a estimate.
Take a look at it, I bought mine online at www.healthchecksystems.com
    Good Luck with your decision.
