Tdee BRM help

Options
I am a 23 year old female and currently I weigh 239 and I am 5'2". I know I have a long way to go but I am confused about BRM and TDEE. As of right now my calorie goal is 1400 calories a day and I work out 3 to 6 days a week anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes.
Using fitness frog my TDEE says 2904 and my BMR says 1873. What does this all mean?

I think you will find the following link will explain it more fully than I could. It is text heavy, but read through it and it becomes very clear. There are also calculators for you to double check your figures.

The link above is great and really does explain everything.

Basically, TDEE is total daily energy expenditure - the total number of calories you burn daily, based on your activity level (it's an estimate, of course).

BMR is your basal metabolic rate, the amount of calories your body burns just by being alive (without activity figured in).

So, to lose weight, a lot of people take their TDEE number and subtract 10-20% and DON'T add back exercise calories, because they are already figured in.

Hope that helps a little! But definitely read the information in the link above because there is SO much more info there!

This is the best write-up i've seen regarding BMR and TDEE and there are a few formulas for BMR but the one used the most tends to be highly inaccurate.

Have a good read of that and work it out.
