Eating out - remains a challenge..any suggestions!!!

Eating out continues to be my biggest challenge. I try to review the menu and the related nutritional information prior to going out, so I can stay on track with my food plan. In spite of all that work and picking the right meals that fit my plan, my fat burn tends to go down after eating out. Do these restaurants have hidden ingredients they are not disclosing in their menu nutritional facts or what else could it be? Any tips around others success on this would be appreciated.

How are you measuring your fat burn going down? Are you drinking alcohol with these meals out?

Regardless of what I order I try to only eat half the meal, a lot of restaurants have huge portions!

Biggest thing is probably Salt. Depending on the place, say a chain restaurant for example, probably has more processed food and therefore has a higher salt content. Check the Sodium on the nutritional information when you pick an item too. OR try to stick to Steaks or whole chicken breasts on the more plain side.

No alcohol at all. I use a weigh scale showing body fat and muscle percentage. I noticed a reduced reduction the next morning after extensive workouts and balanced food after I eat out.

    So, I wondered.

    Thanks.

I think you hit on something I suspected. The chicken lettuce wrap I had is usually loaded with soy sauce which is very heavy with sodium. Given Sodium's tendency to retain water, I had them bring the chicken without this soy sauce, but may be there was still some in the rice crispies that come with it.

I think this is probably one culprit.

    Thanks

I review the menu ahead of time--and eat something before so that I can just have a salad [dressing on the side]. Also, I drink a lot of water while I'm dining out, sipping it slowly. If I know I'm going out I will work out extra that day too. Good luck!
