Getting Frustrated - Not Losing

Just looking for a little encouragement that this will pay off. I have been working out regularly (4 to 6 times per week for at least 30 minutes) for a month. I am on day 10 of the 30 day shred. I am eating my 1200 calories set by mfp. I weighed in today after a month and I have lost ZERO! In fact, I gained .5 pounds. I have lost 11.5 inches but how can I lose zero pounds? Isn't that physically impossible?!? I mean I am very overweight (5'4" 214 lbs) so it isn't like I don't have anything to lose. Grrrr.

If you are doing the 30 day shred, then that is burning around 260 calories daily. Therefore to NET 1200 calories at least, you should be eating around 1460 calories.
Have you calculated your BMR and TDEE numbers.

is a good place to start for information and calculators. If we eat below our BMR and/or have too big a deficit in calories our bodies will hang onto everything it can just to survive. If, however, we eat the right healthy amount of calories to lose weight, our bodies will release the excess and the weight will come off.
Having said all of above, which I hope you do take the time to read the link, you say you have lost inches which is good and shows that exercise is paying off in terms of recompositioning your body. You just need to ensure that your calorie intake is healthy and sustainable for the long term.0
