I'm in college so anything I can pop in the oven or throw in my purse is a PLUS. I love healthy snacks, and I love healthy versions of my favorite "junk" foods. I want to know yours, too!

Here is a list of some of my favorites:

Jack's Thin Crust Frozen Cheese Pizza (450cal for 1/2 pizza)
Bocca Chick'n patties (80 calories)
Lean Cuisine orange chicken w/ rice (300 calories)
Dole Frozen Strawberries
Cheesehead 50 calorie String cheese
Laughing Cow spreadable cheese wedges (35 calories)

Any other GREAT packaged foods for an on-the-go college kid that you love? Please share your ideas! :):):)

  • So far I've played with different types of foods and know what helps me with my weight loss. These are the things I buy:

    Lean Cuisine dinners
    Healthy Choice dinners
Amy's dinners (I love the Amy's - Non-Dairy Organic Bean & Rice Burrito and Amy's - Tortilla Casserole & Black Beans Bowl Gluten Free)
Oatmeal (fills you up for a while).. sometimes i'll add fruit or nuts to the oatmeal
Pineapple, watermelon (pre-cut and packaged from walmart)

I'm sure there's more but those are my main go-to's. This makes my life much easier and I'm losing weight. :)

    Hope that helps. :)
  • Oh I totally love lean cuisine meals! Although, a lot of times I can find other healthier options. But they are so quick and easy! Glad you weren't one of those Lean cuisine haters :)

I don't cook so I live on Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones and any other low-cal frozen foods I can find. If it fits in the microwave and can be done in less than 7 minutes, it's in my freezer. haha! I've also found that I like to buy the "Variety assortment" of cereals and chips because they're already proportioned and I can just grab and go. I'm really into "grabby" foods. I also buy low-cal pudding cups....and they're only something like 80 calories each. I also like Skinny Cow products - especially the ice cream! It's really good. They have ice cream sandwiches that are really good sized and only 50 calories. Can't beat that.

This is a good thread. I'll be anxious to see what others come up with.
  • Yes! I was totally thinking that. If anyone has a great product, I always want to hear it. Oh I forgot to put what I buy for bread!!!!

Healthy Life whole grain English muffins! 80 calories of moist, muffiny goodness!!! only 2$ a pack!!!! GET THEM. I use them for mini snack pizzas, sandwhiches, cheeseburgers, breakfast, etc.

Also I love healthy life 35 cal bread. Tons of fiber too. :)
    try them! TRUST ME.

If you have a stove-top, bags of frozen stir-fry veggies are awesome. Throw them in a pan with some healthy oil and soy sauce over high heat, and meat from left-overs if you have them. In five minutes you have a full bowl of veggies, protein, and healthy fats, and the only clean-up is a skillet and a spatula. I practically live on this stuff.
  • butterball turkey burgers!
  • I haven't ever tried those turkey burgers.
As for stovetop stirfry, I make that for dinner at least once a week! Or leftovers..
