I am brand new to this.

yesterday was my first day and I recorded absolutely everything, being completely honest. I ended up being 450 calories over my budget!

I had indulged in late night cookies and ice cream, and then because I had the "sugar headache", I had to have chicken.

So way over my budget, but what a eye opener! Anyone else find this out?

Cheers, :noway:

I did! I have to be honest, I can't remember what my calories were. But it was CRAZY the amount I had consumed in a day! I about died. I never thought I was consuming so many calories. I mean, I had to be. I had gained 80 pounds over the course of 6ish years. I was doing something wrong. But I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be that bad.

Good luck to you in your weight loss goals! It can be rough at times, today is a bad day for cravings and yesterday I ate WAY out of my range of calories, but it is totally worth it and it gets easier as time goes on :)

Yes, I actually did this for about two weeks before I really committed to losing. Logged and learned about where most my problems were ( though I sort of had a clue) learned how best to use the site searching for calories inputting recipes and such. Then i wiped Mfp clean and got to work, I try and pre plan meals and then budget snacks in around that, having a plan ahead helps some, of course some days get away from me but most planned days go as planned.
