Calories?

This may sound like a really stupid question, but are we supposed to eat all of our calories including the ones that they give us for working out? Will we not lose if we're not eating our calories down to "0"?

I was thinking that.... but I dont because then my calorie deficit would be the same and I dont run up hills so i can eat more, its to lose weight and I figure if I can survive without that extra food, why not?yeah..... thats just what I'm doing0

Thanks! That's exactly what I was thinking, but I kept reading that people were saying to eat down to "0", but i thought that would defeat the purpose of working out... I would rather be lazy if i'm still going to lose at the same rate! LOL0

You set the programme to the amount you want to lose per week (e.g. 1 lb, 2 lbs, etc) then the computer will keep a running balance of the calories you can eat, already having taken into account the amount of calories you need to "save" or "not eat" so that you can lose that 1lb or 2lbs (for 1 lb loss a week, you have to create a deficit of 500 calories per day, 1000 calories per day to lose 2 lbs per week, and so on).
For example: If you burn 2000 calories per day, and wanted to lose 1 lb per week, the programme would give you a balance of 1500 calories per day. If you exercise, yet still want to only lose 1lb per week, you can eat those calories.
Hope that is helpful...

Just be aware, there is a "sweet spot" for calories deficite (for most people somewhere between 300 and 600 calories per day under your maintanence weight). If your body feels like it's being overly deprived, it will hoard calories, if it feels like it's getting too many calories, it wil...you guessed it, hoard calories. So 1000 calorie deficite may or may not work for you depending on how aggressive your body is.
In other words, your body doesn't care whether you create that deficite by eating less or exercising more, if you create too large a deficite, it WILL start hoarding calories, and you will start saying things like:
"I'm eating what the site tells me too, but I'm not losing any weight, the site lies to me!" When infact your lying to the site and not following the goal that it has laid out for you.
Hope this helps.0
