I know how to do them. I've watched videos on how to start but what weight would you recommend starting at (what did you start at). And how many reps and sets and on what type of weights?
I just started so sorry if I said something wrong.

Good for you to want to start strength training - it's worth it!
Getting started where you feel comfortable with what you're doing will take a few trial/error sessions. There's no way anyone can say, "you have to start curls at X weight or bench press at X weight"...it all depends on you.
Spend some time BEFORE going into the gym to make a list of the exercises you want to do...then go in and start testing. You should be able to do 3 sets (usually 10 reps), but the last ones should be hard....you still keep good form, but it's a little bit of a struggle.
Remember - the bigger the muscle, the heavier the weights....don't do 15lb bicep curls and 10lb leg extensions!0
