Whey Protien and Breastfeeding?

Whey protien while breastfeeding. Good? Bad? And why?

My son is turning 7 months old tmrw and he eats solids but is still excluslvly breastfed. I just saw on the protien powder it says not for pregnant or breastfeeding woman. Why would protien be bad for a baby? And advice would be helpful =)

Also if it is ok to drink, when should I drink it?

Thanks!

There are two things to consider here:
Is your baby lactose intolerant? If you are still drinking milk, eating cheese and yogurt and not having issues with those, I see no problem with whey.
That being said, please make sure that it is pure whey protein not the supplement with tons of additives.... The supplements sold in the "fitness" aisle of your local supermarket can have extra stuff in it that may not be safe for babies. I know Sam's Club sells bags of pure whey, and I am sure you could find it on amazon or whole foods maybe.

Eat real food sources of protein which include other nutrients, whey is not particularly nutritious unless fortified. Protein powders are supplements to a healthy diet not food replacements, really the are convenience tools.

Hr does fine with me drinking milk. What bad kind of things are in there that are bad? I think the one I bought is called body fortress.
