which is more accurate? the map from mapmyrun or my garmin forerunner 50 with footpod. the watch is not gps enabled. i did calibrate it but i may be off because when i wear the watch on the treadmill when the watch chimes at one mile the treadmill reads .98
just got back from a run and map my run "mapped" the miles at 3.79 while my watch calculated 4.36. which is right?

Treadmills are notoriously unreliable and inaccuarte, and the Garmin manual tells you not to use them to calibrate footpods.
In comparing my last 5 GPS runs against my footpod (uncalibrated, out of the box), the differences are between 2 and 5%. However, that's for me, and your results may vary depending on your stride, pace, and a variety of other factors.
In comparing to four different treadmills in my gym, the footpod to treadmill difference is anywhere from 8 to 18%, with no consistency between treadmills.
Track the differences and see if a trend emerges. Calibrating the foodpod against a known distance (say, a 400m measured track) is also a good start.0
