Well, I have been having a truly wonderful week, so I just thought it would be nice to share some good news rather than my usual blahs. Starting with my topic...twice this week I got called skinny. What?! I mean obviously it made me very happy, and I have been working very hard, so it definitely shows. I'm not really doing this for the looks, that's just a bonus, my doctor scared me into losing weight when I developed hypertension, but now I'm addicted to getting healthier. One person was my son's Kindergarten teacher from last year. All last school year I was pregnant and then recovering. I actually put on more weight AFTER my delivery than I did during pregnancy. Then I didn't start losing weight until Oct/Nov. this year, so I always had big bulky coats on and she's always seen me when I was big. So I was at the school doing my volunteer work and she says, "Wow look at skinny, you've changed!". Then asked what I'd been doing and I referred her here. Then one of my former coworkers (that I didn't really get along with, but we've maintained a friendship) went out to lunch with me to fill me in on her upcoming wedding...after lunch she said "You look really good, skinny. You're gonna try to show me up at my own wedding aren't you?" I plead innocent, but she used to drive me nuts at work so I did get a little glimmer of satisfaction. :blushing:
Now even better news my family has jumped on to FINALLY support me. I guess I've lost enough weight and kept it off that they believe it's real or something. My sister (who weighs over 300 lb) and my mother (who's diabetic and has a slew of other weight-related problems) asked me to write them out a sample of my meal plans, and they are following along in this journey to healthier eating. And the best news is my husband is finally backing me. That has been the hardest thing was not having his support, but yesterday he told me that he was really proud of me, that he can tell my body is more toned, that I exude confidence now. Then he helped me plan some menus for next week since it's Spring Break and our anniversary, and he's not only going to help me stick with the healthier stuff, but he's going to eat that way too! Ahh. I hope everyone else is having as good a week as I am. And if not, hope it goes better for you soon. There's always light at the end of the tunnel, you just have to keep going.

That is awesome! I'm glad to hear that your husband is being supportive. I remember you were bummed out with a comment he made a while ago. Seems like he has changed his tune! Way to go.0
