General question wholemeal or wholegrain?

bread what is the difference....or is there much difference between regarding the healthier option? Just wondering was shopping today and picked up my wholegrain and my friend pointed out the wholemeal wondering why i wasn't going for that instead, thoughts on this? :)

    this is what i thought buy my friend pointed out its the same company that both produce a wholegrain and wholemeal loaf, i was just wondering but im guessing the health benefits are the same

    Here in the states, I don't much look at the FRONT of the packaging of bread, since that's just all marketing. I look at the list of ingredients on the back. What I look for is that the first ingredient is "100% whole grain wheat" and there isn't an ingredient later on that says only "wheat flour" or "enriched white flour." Basically, I try to avoid the word "flour" in the ingredients.

    I think wholemeal is just what us british/euro people call wholegrain. Any types of bread etc with grain in is usually called "seedy" bread.

    Its the same thing. Its just another British / American terminology difference.
