First time on the forums

Hello!

The name is Emily, but I also go by Mia. I am a 21 y.o. college student and and English major. I have a passion for culture and language. I hope to teach English abroad in the future. I prefer using my time to learn new things or read a book, and when I am not doing that lately I have been watching Korean dramas (I need to work on motivating myself to exercise). I am hoping to eventually get an elliptical so I can multi task lol. I have a knack for learning languages but can't speak anything fluently other than english yet. I am good with French and currently learning Korean. I love cats, my fave colors purple, and I need to lose 120 lbs. There is a little about me :).

So, I've been using the app and stuff for a while but haven't been steady with it. I tend to be forgetful. My attempts at weight loss have been just that. Attempts. This time I am working my hardest to be in it for the long run. I have a heart defect and various other health issues, and my weight will only make them worse. I rarely go out anymore because I feel embarrassed by the way I look. I don't really date anymore either. My life is stagnant. I really want to change all that. I want to travel and really live life and not worry about how I look or if I people can hear me breathing when I get winded. I used to be big on sports and was very active, so being like this feels terrible. I'm tired of hating on myself and need to get serious about my weight loss and it would be really nice to make friends who get what I am going through. This stuff isn't easy to begin with, and doing it on my own is a little harder. So here's my goals and what I am doing.
I am basing my diet around the slimfast 3-2-1 cause it feels more structured, which I need. I have 1,200 calories a day to work with. I can't really afford buying slimfast products every week, so I substitute with Fit and Active (from Aldi's) which is actually really great so far. The numbers match up pretty good in comparison. Its supposed to go 3 100cal snacks (100 cals of fruit or veg or nuts or a snack pack), 2 shakes, and 1 500cal balanced meal. I've only been on this diet for two weeks so far, but it feels good. I have subbed a yoplait yogurt instead of a second shake this past week. I also found a way around the death trap for me that is cooking my own meals (which is annoying to track how many calories are in each ingredient) by buying Lean Cuisines. I have a lean cuisine and a salad. I also take a prenatal vitamin and a vitamin d capsule.

So far this diet has been good. I'm the kind of person who really needs structure but need an easy option because when I get stressed I get lazy and the last thing I want to do is be a calorie nazi. That stresses me out. This app/site has definitely taken a lot of the work out of it.

If anyone has any advice or tips, I would love the help. I also would love to make friends. To be honest, I don't have many or anyone particularly close anyway, so no one who I can talk to when things get tough.

I look forward to being on these forums more. Hope this post wasn't too much of a TL;DR
