Hi folks!
I'm Patty, 42 years old, I have 4 daughters. One is married, and the other 3 are still at home. My husband and I have been overweight since we got married basically, though I struggled with my weight since puberty.
My husband had a heart attack at age 36 and tried eating healthy for a while, but it's so expensive, and we were just in a bad place for a while. Thins are better now, and we know we really have to lose this weight. We've both done a 7-detox diet. I did mine back in August and stayed off caffeine for a long time afterwards. It was just too hard to stick to eating well when I was the only one doing it. So, he did the 7-day detox last week, and now feels great. He swears he'll never have caffeine again and is gung-ho about eating healthy! Hooray! So, now that we're both on board with this, we can surely accomplish our goals!
Our scales are currently not working, so we're doing waist measurements for now, and do know what our starting weights were when we started (when we all weighed ourselves at Christmas (that was depressing).
We both want to lose about 50 lbs each. He wants to get into a size 34 pants (or maybe even a 32!), and I'd love to see a size 12 again and a size 10 would thrill my soul!
We're watching calories. I'm doing slim fast (Walmart brand actually) shakes, and we're using our treadmill more than we did all last year! Hope to keep strong and be able to post awesome before and after pics!

Hi Patty!! I'd love to be friends and support you in your journey. I'm 47 and have 2 kids and 6 grandchildren. I started my weight loss journey because even though I am a grandmother I don't have to look like one. I lost 23 pounds using MFP, but sadly stopped using this site and gained 8 back  (ugh!). I am back on track and plan to reach my goal by the end if the year. Feel free to add me.0
