I work part time 11.30am - 2.30pm and have trouble working

out what to eat and when! I have been at this job for nearly 2 years and have put on 6kgs! I am not allowed to eat while I am working so I need to eat before hand (or after!) I usually eat a 8am breakfast then a sandwich about 11am. By the time I get home at 3pm I am hungry and more than likely snack my way until dinner at 5.30! Should I have a large protein breakfast at 10.30am? But then what do I eat when I get home if I am to have an evening meal with the children at 5.30ish?
Would love your thoughts!

Honestly, I don't really see the problem. You should be able to go for more than three to five hours without eating. If not, eat more before hand and closer to when you leave, then have a light snack like a piece of fruit or cheese when you get home to hold you over till dinner. If you are not able to go for more than three hours without eating, you might need to review what you are eating and make sure you are having protein and fat with your meal and not just consuming sugar which will lead to a crash shortly after.

You are making this way more complicated than it needs to be given you only work for three hours a day. If you are hungry at 3pm eat a proper meal, there is no law setting mealtimes to specific hours. Just spread your daily intake of calories out over the full day such that you are not hungry. If you don't feel its enough food either eat more or eat better: nutrients that confer satiety include protein, fibre, water and to a lesser extent healthy fats.

If I was you, this would be my routine:

7/8am Wake up and work out
    9/9:30am Big, healthy, nutritious breakfast
11:20 Snack/fruit/nuts etc just before work
    3pm Lunch straight after work
    7:30pm Dinner

    ish :-)
