Hi. I am eating out today at Texas Roadhouse and I am planning on getting the mushroom jack chicken sandwich minus the bun. MFP has the whole sandwich listed but I need to know approximately how many it will be without the bun. Anybody have a clue? Thanks.

My guess would be 2-250, since a standard size bun is about ~125-150

HI! I love eating there and I have been there 3 times since I started on here. I managed to stay within my calories (barely) all three times! I even had half a steak and one of those rolls and mashed potatoes! Beleive me, it was hard for me and my ratios were out of whack that day, but, I did stay under on everything so it was a success! ( oh, also made sure I worked out for an hour that day!) I also did what you are doing, I checked out calories etc, before I went. Bottom line is, you don't eat at these types of restaurants everyday, so today, you may or may not be able to keep everything in check, but at least you are trying and that to me is what this is all about. We are changing our habits that we will all try to continue after we lose the weight, so really, unless we stop going out for dinner, lunch, etc, then we will face this challenge many times through out our journey. The way I look at it, its only 1 day. While I try to make sure even on those days I try really hard to maintain, I'm not going to worry to much because it is only one day. I guess what I'm trying to say is enjoy your time out with your family or friends, try to contol what you eat, but don't worry to much about it. Add excercise if you can, and if you can't then really hit it hard the next day! You're doing it! so have a really nice time, but, beware of those darn rolls!!!!lol

Thanks for your replies. Sheri - I so understand the draw of the rolls! As soon as we sat down I requested my husband to remove the rolls from the middle of the table over to his side behind the peanuts so they wouldn't be in my face tempting me. I also ordered a coffee even though it kills me to pay $2.50 for a drink. I did this so I would have something for my hands to be on. It felt so good to be able to control what I ate -felt satisfied and fulfilled to not be over on my calorie goals. Thank you so much for your encouragement.
