Anyone have any good results with Hydroxycut?

I just gained some weight back after falling off the wagon. I guess it happened because I hit a plateau and I couldn't get past it so eventually I just gave up. I got some Hyrdoxycut hoping that on top of my working out and calorie-counting, it'll boost me up and help me get back to my lightest weight (180, I'm 230 now).
Did anyone have good results with this? I don't want to buy it anymore if it doesn't work, because it's expensive for something you have to take 3 pills a day at first and then 6! It will go fast especially since my fiance is planning on taking it too.

Save the money. The best thing to do is clean out the house of all the junk foods. Donate the food to the local food bank. Then go shoppings and bring home good healthy foods.0

What Arctic Fox said.
Hydroxycut is a diuretic, so you lose water weight, not fat. It might give you a psychological boost, but you're really not accomplishing anything useful.0 -
I tried it a long time ago. Oh look, I'm here now. Nope, as Arcticfox said, don't waste your money. :bigsmile:0

Please don't. Please use the tools on here to determine your total daily energy expenditure, set a reasonable weight loss goal and limit your calories accordingly, and exercise. Then be patient and weigh yourself no more than once a week. The weight will come off if you measure and weigh your food and follow the plan.0

Focus on diet, dont waste money on snake oil0

fat burners are a waste of money... especially if you are far from your goal.0

Love this honest answer . Try it the right way. It does work, I swear.0 -
I took that once for weeks. Ended up in the hospital, I say stay away.0

Honestly, no.
Metabolife 356 I took way back in 99-01 (don't remember exactly) worked well for me, but ephedra was considered way too dangerous. Looking back, probably was. Then again, I was also in performance dance, step aerobics, and my friends and I played a lot of racquet ball that semester, so who knows exactly what it was that really worked.0 -
It triggered panic problems for me.
I would never take it again.0 -
It only works if you cut it with blow and snort it.0

This has a really dark history. My wife bought some about a year or so back... Before she took any I found out it had some really serious side-effects (including liver damage and death) and was pulled from the shelves for a while... Soon it was back on the shelves after some modifications. We threw the stuff away, unopened. I just don't trust it.... I urge you to "GOOGLE"... Hydroxycut liver... see what pops up then decide.0

Well yeah. That too0 -
If I've said this once, I've said it a hundred times.... UNLESS & UNTIL you see Oprah Winfrey skinny as a toothpick, accept this an uncontrovertible fact.... There is NO MIRACLE CURE for fat and weight loss that you can buy and take. PERIOD. No IFs, ANDs or BUTs about it. With all her money and her constant quest for health and weight loss... if it could be bought in a pill, she'd have it. So, just dig in and get ready to WORK for it. NO EASY SOLUTIONS. NO MAGIC PILLS.0

Hydroxycut Hardcore, the kind that was recalled, I used it for 2 years, and loved it! It worked very well. Never tried the reformulated version, though.0

I thought it was feckin' awesome. Did everything it promised. Suppressed my appetite, did weird things to the fat I still had on me… I guess that would be the so called shrinking of the fat cells. I took it as directed. On my belly, if I would squeeze a section, the fat would collapse on itself… not the best words for it… Kind of like there were areas where the fat disintegrated, and squeezing that section would push the fat together… Any way, I was eating low carb and working out 4 to 6 hours daily as well. But it did it's job, that's for sure.0

The Ephedra based one worked. The new version is trash.0

Yeah... I'm pretty sure that was the hydroxycut.... by no means could that have been the 4-6 hours working out daily. Silly me.0 -
I didn't read all the responses, but I am sure you received plenty that tell you to save your money (I hope). I just wanted to share my experience with it. Back in 2007, my ex-boyfriend (wasn't an ex at that time) started taking it because he wanted to lose weight fast. He followed the instructions on the bottle, and I got a phone call from his employer after 1 week of using it saying that they are sending him to the ER. His blood pressure was through the roof and he passed out at work. I went to the ER and the doctor told him to throw that bottle of snake oil into the trash. His BP was normal before taking it and returned to normal after he quit. And NO, this was not the old style with the ephedra. It's a dangerous waste of money.0

I understand that some of you disagree with the use of diet pills, but as you can see from my original post I already wrote that I am counting calories and exercising. It's irritating that I can't get an answer from someone that isn't acting like all I want to do is take this pill and magically lose weight while not doing anything else. I'm not looking to lose weight super fast, I 'm just hoping this will help me with my metabolism.
I'll be wary because I read the responses that said some people became ill. Thanks for the advice from the people who actually read my whole post.0 -
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Don't waste your money. Use the money instead to buy healthy non processed foods0

Buying healthy foods goes without saying. Whether I take Hydroxycut or not, that isn't going to affect everything else I'm going to do.0 -
Heya! A few years back (before I got lazy and gained some weight back which is why I'm here) I went from 250 to 120 pounds. I didn't start taking any thermogenics until I got to about the 150 mark and plateaud. They did help me get over that hump that I was stuck at for so long. I was sweating like a maniac some days and my sweat stank (ew!) but they CAN work. After so many weeks I would stop for awhile as the effect was no longer then start up again a month or so later. I think your body just gets used to them? Hydroxycut was one of the ones I took and yes it helped. Like I said it was a while back so unfortunately I can't remember how log it took me to lose the extra pounds... I hear they don't work the same for everyone though but I say if you have some extra cash laying around try it out! There are also some stronger formulations out there...0

I had excellent results with Hydroxycut when it was an ECA stack. It was great at controlling appetite, too. But, now it's been re-formulated and it doesn't seem to work anymore.0

The other thing is I like how people post on these things without indicating whether they've even taken Hydroxycut, which I assume means they have not.:yawn:0
