Talk about your personal goals. I hire a lot of people. People who are constantly trying to improve themselves generally make good employees.0

And don't give the typical canned answers. If they ask "what are some of your weaknesses?" DO NOT say "I'm a perfectionist" or "I try and do too much." B.S. You're fired before you're hired. Be honest...unless you've murdered someone. In that case, lie. But be honest about everything else.0

Honestly I would reccomend googling it. I've gotten so many awesome tips doing that and it's really helped to keep me focused on what to do and say.0

Thanks for the replies.
Another question.. what should I wear?
3/4's and a polo shirt or more dressy?0 -
I would bear in mind that some employees do internet searches of prospective employees, so it might be a good idea to detach your real name (if it is your real name) from posts you've made here.
I don't really know anything about the industry but with regards to dress, my instinct would be to go to the interview in something a bit smarter than a polo shirt. Better to be slightly over-dressed than under-dressed if you're trying to impress them.0 -
One of the best things I did that got me my last two jobs was this : Ask your interviewer if from speaking to you or seeing your resume there is anything that would make them not hire you. It gives you the perfect opportunity to clear up any misconceptions and present yourself in better light. You do not want interviewers discussing these gray area amongst themselves.
About dressing up, depends entirely on the work environment. However, you need to always be dressed better than your interviewer. In the first round in my current job I was totally suited up - stockings n all and my interviewer was in cargo pants and a t shirt that had clearly seen better days. For the second round, I did stick to formals but rather than go all out like I had previously, I stuck to something slightly more casual - formal shirt with mismatched pants and jacket. Also, if it is going to be a lunch interview be careful about interviewers who will deliberately ask you a question just as you put a bite into your mouth just to fluster you a little bit. Stick to a salad, finish your bite, then excuse yourself and then speak. Nothing than worse than food spraying!0
