So i understand that muscle is denser than fat and that a 150 pound person with no muscle will look bigger than a 150 pound with muscle. Why then are there people who have major muscles that still weigh very little... like Jillian Michaels? She said she weighs around 120 pounds i think.. or 115 and her arms are huge!

Also If ur weight goes up cause of gaining muscles... if you wait a little bit will your weight eventually go down?

They aren't "huge", they are just devoid of fat. Less fat shows more muscle definition.

I'm not a nutritionist or even in the medical field, so this is not a scientific answer..... But I have noticed that different body types build muscle differently. One of my daughters muscles up quickly with very little effort while the other is "soft" by comparison. They are both athletes and eat similarly. And only 18 months apart in age.

I read an article one time that said women with an apple shape tend to put on muscle more quickly than pear shaped or curvy women. Don't know if you can believe everything you read in a magazine though....lol

umm her arms aren't huge. jillians arm is probably the size of my forearm

i think you're confusing be able to see someone's muscle definition with the size of that body part. the two aren't necessarily the same.

lol ok never mind about her arms...

my point is.. if someone weighs more because of muscle gain.. will they eventually lose that weight?

Sure, if they eat at a calorie deficit.

And if they already were eating at a deficit, then they didn't gain muscle at all. They are probably retaining water.

easy tiger. let's not get ahead of ourselves. go ahead and start lifting. i assure you that it will be a very long time before you've put on so much muscle that the size of your arms is pumping up your scale weight.

You got it. Yes your weight will eventually go done if you continue to work out and eat with an overall calorie deficeit.
