C:P:F ratios

I'm trying to form a working ratio of C:P:F to help lose fat weight while maintaining lean mass.

I was shocked to find MFP ratios to be 55:15:30 - surely not enough Protein?

However, the ratio I was looking at going to 40:30:30 - I am finding it really difficult to keep my Carbs down and my Protein up.

I know there is advice to eat 1g Protein for each 1lb of lean bodyweight, but is that for people trying to build muscle or is that a maintenance intake?

What about 45:25:30 as a medium target?

As has been said numerous times, MFP protein is set to the widely accepted minimum for health based on research, not to be confused with percentages that others might believe are optimal or maximal. Just divide your macro grams up reasonably evenly between each meal and snack and eat portions accordingly, rather than overloading breakfast with carbs and the evening meal with protein.

    Thanks Firefox.

Just to clarify - is that to say the MFP (:15) ratio for Protein is a maintenance level?

It's just that I am finding I am losing weight, but a lot of it is lean mass compared to fat; according to a mains operated body composition analyzer - should be accurate as it is a professional model as opposed to a home set of fat:muscle scales.
