I am participating in a 90 day challenge, its is with our local fitness center so its not real formal. We were just given general diet tips and told to excercise 6 days a week. I am also recovering from surgery so I am easing into it. I am doing cardio 6 days a week and have just added weights. My question is whats the best mix. Do both every day, alternate, or what? I would like to lose about 15lbs but also develop better upper body(lower too but upper needs it more). We did measurements and pics so I am hoping to see improvement.

Best would be a 3 day full body lifting routine on a calorie deficit with cardio peppered in wherever you want (or don't) except for too much directly before lifting. See here http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/848374-large-collection-of-info-for-beginners-2013-edition0
