I'm -7 on my fiber intake & -5 on my sugar intake although 17g of it is from an apple this morning.

as long as I'm not constantly over, will it make much difference? >.<

Not all sugars are created equally. Apple sugar= good, gummy bear sugar= not so good.
I eat fruit every day and I'm sure some days my sugar is over, but I don't worry about it, and it hasn't affected me. Just watch out for added sugar, such as in cereal, oatmeals, etc... Even BBQ sauce and pasta sauce will have loads of added sugars. Read labels, and go with the lowest. Over on fiber is always a good thing!

As far as weight loss, it doesn't really matter. However, if you find you're craving sugar/simple carbs, this is likely the cause. I recently cut out all fruit except for the occasional grapefruit or berries (those are lower sugar) and now all of my cravings for sweets and refined carbs are gone.

Fiber is good. Don't worry about going over on it.

How is fruit sugar different? Your body can't tell the difference.

I always target 30 grams of fiber per day. I think MFP ought to tweak their program so that calories are an upper limit and fiber is a lower limit. I find I lose weight far more easily when I keep my fiber up in meal plans.

I'm just saying that you have to weigh the pros and cons. Zero vitamins or nutrients with gummy bears.

Only thing that matters is your calories. As long as you are providing less energy in the form of calories than what it needs to maintain weight, you will reduce fat mass.

You can get all of your micros from vegetables while consuming far less sugar and carbs. There's no need to eat fruit.
