Weight up, body fat down

Hi All,

I'm a bit discouraged by my body weight this week. I was 263 on Friday and I've gone up 2 pounds in the last 2 days however my bodyfat has reduced by 2.8%. Any suggestions on what is causing this fluctuation?

How do you handle plateaus, do you have any tips to work through them and how do you keep yourself motivated to stick with it?

My stats:
33 years old. 5'3. CW: 265
1200 calories daily. Ketogenic diet.
Monday - Saturday: 1 hour cardio, elliptical, burn btwn 500-700 calories and I don't eat my calories back.
Mon, Wed, Fri: 20-30 minutes of weight training

    There might be several reasons:

    1) body weight fluctuates daily, which is why I tend not to pay attention to it: i have gone up and down anywhere between 3 and 5 pounds in a single day

    2) with weight training (and I am not sure how much you are doing) you may gain weight AND lose fat%, since you may be gaining muscle weight, and not necessarily fat

    3) water weight/retention fluctuations

I tend to pay more attention to fat%, so as long as that is dropping, I think you are doing just fine :)
