I Feel Limitless

Just joined MFP back on Christmas. Since then I have already lost about 18 lbs (give or take, as I'm not positive what my actually starting weight was). I started with small changes to my eating and exercise habits. If someone had told me 4-5 months ago that today I'd be doing what I'm doing, eating normal sized meals with a lot more veggies and fruit, not eating fried foods very often, only drinking water, and exercising on a regular basis, I'd have laughed and said "Yeah, sure, very funny." At that point I actually believed that being a "bigger girl" was my fate and my destiny. I actually had told my boyfriend "I'll probably never be skinny no matter what I do, and if I did I'd have to work a lot harder for it than a lot of people do." It's crazy the lies that we can tell ourselves and the denial that we come to accept as reality after living with bad habits for SO long.

Now, I exercise on the elliptical 5 days a week and usually burn 200-300 cals doing that. I just started Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and am going to be doing Level 1, Day 3 tonight! I never DREAMED of becoming someone who works out, lifts weights, or runs, but I see all of that in my future, now! It's an amazing feeling. I FEEL better every day and I'm starting to look better, too!

Check out my profile pics for progress so far. Compare the one in the striped shirt (when I started MFP) to the one in the purple shirt (today). I'm gonna be a LITTLE hottie by Christmas!

Good for you! My story is very similar. Until about two weeks ago I had 'settled' on being overweight. A few days before I turned 30 I realized enough is enough and no was going to change me except for ME!! In two weeks I'm down 16.2 lbs and I can't wait to get to the gym every day and I'm actually enjoying counting the calories.

I'm looking forward to being able to participate in sports and other fitness activities by summer. I have 105 lbs to lose (and then I'll re-evaluate).

Keep up the good work!!!! :)
