Weight-loss Rewards (as incentive!)

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone else has tried this...

Been feeling too lazy these days. SO, I decided to give myself a little incentive to loose those last 13-18 lbs.
Being the shoppaholic that i am, they're pretty generous:

Goal 1 (140 lbs/-39 lbs): Aritzia leggings ($15 - 22).
Goal 2 (137 lbs/-42 lbs): Real Techniques Core Collection (15$).
Goal 3 (134 lbs/-45 lbs): Origin Super Spot Remover ($17).
Goal 4 (130 lbs/-49 lbs): They're Real! Benefit Mascara ($29).
Goal 5 (127 lbs/-53 lbs): Any NARS or Lancome Blush (~$22-$33).
ULTIMATE GOAL (125 lbs/-54 lbs): A pair of pants (gasp) from Aritzia!!

It is almost sad how badly looking at this list makes me want to work out. IT'S WORKING!! <3

P.S. I know I shouldn't need materialistic things to drive me to work out and stuff, but its just a selfish bit of extra motivation for me..
Anyone else done this?

I don't set goals for things like that (the weight loss is motivation enough), but I do want to say that Hypnose Drama is so much better than Benefit's mascara

I think this is a great idea, and sometimes i motivate myself by buying pretty workout clothes, so i want to rush home and try it out!

I think its a great idea! I need to sit down and make myself a list....but with totally differnt rewards. Can't say blush does much for me lol. I wear make up maybe once a month.

I only have one...the wife and I are planning a trip to Isla Mujeres, Mexico for Spring 2014 and we both want to look and feel kick *kitten* while we're strolling down the beach. Other than that, looking and feeling good again is motivation enough for me.

I haven’t set incentives yet for each goal weight achieved, but I keep telling myself that when I am down to 130 lbs like I want to be that I will be able to wear lululemon workout clothes, sports bras and mini shorts to the gym so I can motivate myself to upkeep my body. I also want to get my belly button re-pierced and I would never dream of it anymore with the tummy I have. So yeah I better start saving up for my goals.

I do something similar, my reward is a vacation or event. Do what works for you and what gets you motivated. Enjoy those new britches !

Absolutely I reward myself with non-food rewards! I bought a pair of diamond studs and 25 pounds loss. At 45 loss I treated myself to a full body massage. At 55 lost, buying a new Coach purse.
    Sure am!

I don't have an official list yet, but I am totally planning to reward myself with a tattoo I've wanted for years & I'm sure several bikinis for my honeymoon in Hawaii! (As if just being in Hawaii won't be treat enough lol)...

If you need an incentive, go for it. I like to treat myself to small things sometimes. I might even treat myself to a food item, like, that expensive bottle of olive oil or an exotic kind of fruit that I don't normally buy. I wouldn't mind a new handbag for my trip to MI. Some people are planning to walk the beach in Mexico, I'm planning on taking a 4 yr. old on the train from CA to MI. Have fun next year when you go!

Your biggest reward is that by losing weight in a healthy manner and by incorporating exercise into your life you will actually increase your life expectancy and reduce your heart age. These are not small things!

Whatever motivates you is what matters. I myself can't wait to buy new clothes when the time comes. That's motivating me!
  • I think that its good to set up a reward system. When I lose my first 10 pounds, I will be rewarded a new bottle of perfume or body spray. The second set of 10 pounds, I will be rewarded with a new belt. The third set of 10 pounds, I will be rewarded with a manicure. And that is as far ahead that my husband is willing to think for right now. LOL. Good luck losing the last few pounds that you have to lose. I am rooting for you.

YES! I had goals like this when I started last year, I need to make some new ones!
We are going to Costa Rica the first week of March so my husband and I are both working extra hard these last two months before the trip. I need to make a list to keep me motivated after the trip ; )
