Working-out and taking Bata-Blockers?

Hey Everyone!
I was just put on Bata-Blocks this week. My BP is very high. (156/106) Know body knows why it's high. I DO work-out. I've lost 55 lbs. But my BP keeps getting higher and higher. My last few work-outs have been very disappointing. I did 1 hour of Zumba and 1 hour of spionning and burned less the 600 calories. I can't get my heart rate up (b/c of the meds) I am SOOOOOO frustrated!! Does anyone have any advise. How can I keep loosing weight, if I can't burn enough calories at the gym?
I am so frustrated!!!

You are still burning close to what you burned before. The actual intensity of your workouts hasn't changed, just the heart rate "scale" has changed. An HRM will show sharply reduced calories, but that's a problem with HRM.
Depending on drug and dosage, research suggests that beta blockers can reduce aerobic capacity by 6%-10%. Weight loss may slow and will be a little more challenging, but it still possible. Just ignore your HRM calories.
