ok to weight train 2x/week?

I was doing a 3 day split but i found it hard to work in all the cardio i wanted to do, since i run, practice yoga, and cycle(i'm training fora century in June). i think i'm gonna try to condense it into 2x/week, basically do starting strength each day but then also do supplementary lifts on alternating days to still focus on certain muscle groups. how close together should i be doing these days? is it OK if i just do it twice in a 7 day period, or is that not enough?

Enough for what? It is better than 0 or 1, but not as good as 3. In the end it will probably be good enough for what you want, although you haven't stated that, and if you want to work othe rmuscles, do it on the same days after the SS workouts. Less chance of it interfering with the important lifts that way.0

Three would be better, but you'll get some benefits from two days per week. With your other fitness interests, i completely understand the need to cut back to twice per week. I've had to it myself (from 4 days down to 2) to train for specific events/goals.

2x a week is plenty, if you're on a good routine.0

Over an hour and no one has come in and said that A) no one bulks up eating a cal deficit, no one bulks up over night, and C) almost no woman bulks up at all without roids\hormones\prohormones0

I only lift 2x/week. It's the right balance for me to simultaneously focus on running and lifting. With a well designed program, and willingness to work HARD when you're there, you can get good results with 2x/week. There is zero room for lollygagging in the gym with my time, though.0
