...For someone who's trying to maintain a low calorie diet, like me! I always buy the same things because when it comes to writing my shopping list I have a mental block! What are some good healthy snacks/meals/foods you usually buy?
thanks :flowerforyou:

I am kind of the same way. I have my staples and then I have things I'll experiment with.

Things I always have in stock in my cupboards/on my counter:

    -olive oil
    -black beans
    -chickpeas
    -flax seed
    -chia seeds
    -almonds
    -canned tuna
-granola bars (Kashi or Fibre One usually, depending on what's on sale)
    -canned tomatoes
    -lentils
    -quinoa
    -brown rice
-protein powder (some days I wake up too nauseous to eat breakfast)

    -potatoes
    -sweet potatoes
    -onions
    -avocado
    -garlic

    Things I like to have:
    -almond butter
    -kidney beans
    -walnuts
    -coconut

I buy most of this stuff at Bulk Barn.

Things I always have in my freezer:
    -salmon
    -ground turkey
    -turkey breast
    -edamame
    -stir fry vegetables
    -whole berry medley
    -whole wheat tortilla
    -whole grain bread

I buy things like meat in bulk and then seperate them myself and freeze them in individual portions.

Things I always have in my fridge:
    -spinach
    -carrots
    -apples
    -chocolate almond milk
-Greek yogurt (a container of plain and individual strawberry ones)
    -fresh parsley
    -fresh mint
    -celery
    -red, orange, yellow bell peppers
    -zucchini
    -cheddar cheese

    These other fruits/veggies I rotate:
    -swiss chard
    -mushrooms
    -kale
    -beets
    -parsnips
    -berries
    -oranges
    -eggplant

I like to have in my fridge:
    -hummas
    -tofu
    -cottage cheese
    -applesauce

Well when it comes to veggies, I cruise the produce aisle and throw in whatever I feel like.

    Epic treats:
    -instant pudding
    -chocolate almonds

There was a topic not too long ago called, "Your top 5 foods to keep on hand". Use the search tool up above and type it in. The same info you are asking about.

lots of fresh fruits and vegetables are good to have on hand, but you have to actually use them, I will add things like zucunni to spaghetti sauce and chilli, just about everything gets onions and peppers added in as well as garlic, and sometimes ginger for flavor. Chicken breast, whole and ground are useful as well. I took a lot of my favorite recipes and tried to make lower calorie versions, ie pita pizza, so I still got to eat my favorite foods, just lower calorie versions , someone once told me do all your shopping around the outside of the store, avoid the lanes where the process food is kept. I often shop at a local veggie store, that has a bit of other food, but mostly good fresh fruits and vegetables.

I go through an insane amount of fresh veggies, especially now that I have a juicer. It does suck that veggies go bad so quickly though.
