Aside from your personal gauge of your body, I think you should try computing your TDEE and see how much you really need in a day based on your activity.
www.fat2fit.com should be a good site to visit to get your TDEE0 -

I echo the above. . . it's important to know your numbers: BMR and TDEE so you can shoot for somewhere comfortably in-between. . . that sweet spot where you are not hungry and are steadily losing. But if you don't log your calories, how do you know how much you are eating?0

But, to play devils advocate....is the best way to find your numbers through a generic calculator? or to test it on yourself? we all have different backgrounds, genetics, individuality in our biology. someone may be your exact weight, height, and age, but metabolize carbs completely different!
I suggest you eat a certain amount, and if you still have trouble losing weight, lower it by 200 calories or so, every week, until you find that special place where the pounds start coming off. your TDEE is 200 calories or so higher than that number, and your intake to lose weight is that number.
It's much more intuitive, don't you think? I think people resort to these calculators and alot of them become frustrated. Of course, the formula may not apply to you...0 -
I think eating more can't hurt, I would definitely try it and see how you feel. You said that you were always hungry and that means that you body is lacking in something and hopefully eating more will make up for that. I would be careful to make sure that you use your extra calories to eat nutritious foods not junk food. Its easy to want to splurge since you have those extra calories but that probably won't help in the long run.0
