New to MFP today

Hey, I'm not really certain how all this works, guess its obvious I'm not in the Generation X category. I'm 42 years young and have gotten somewhat out of shape. I need to lose 45-50 pounds and am hoping this site will help me with that. I am getting ready to start my P90X program as well as the C25K running program, hopefully I won't overload. I'm an ordained Minister and a police officer so I'm always doing something it seems but I think my metabolism ran out on me a couple years back. So, here I am, trying to get in good health for my family and myself. Any suggestions would be great.
