Should I eat this?

I have opened my journal for public viewing. I am on a 1200 calorie diet and am drinking a lot of water. I'm not exercising so I eat a lot less. I've already discussed this with the doctor and since I'm in perfect health he says it will be good. I want to eat chef boyardee cheese filled raviloli. It is 560 calories or so. Should I eat it if I eat a salad later for dinner? As long as I''m at or below 1200 calories?

You want to eat chef boyardee today right? That sounds pretty good. how about this. You eat the salad right now, and save the chef boyardee for later. That way you can have your chef boyardee, and also pat yourself on the back for delaying satisfaction. that's TWO treats!!! I think this is the mindset you must have, going forward.0 -

Short answer: you can eat it.
That said, there are much healthier choices for a similar meal: whole wheat pasta and sauce with veggies and lean meat (like ground chicken or turkey). Also canned foods tend to have a LOT of sodium and not as many nutrients as fresh stuff. Remember, My Fitness Pal helps track calories but also macro nutrients (fat, carbs, protein) as well as others such as sodium, fiber, cholesterol, etc so take a look at that too.
p.s. Any reason for not exercising? Of course it would help you lose weight, but it's also good for your health for so many other reasons!0 -
I get my nutrients throughout the day, a bunch of vitamin c, a, b... plus this ravioli isn't as bad as what i use to eat... i will excercise once i lose some weight..0

Drink lots and lots o water. That 560 calories comes along with 1920mg sodium (80% of recommended daily allowance)0

BTW, eating 800-900 calories is completely unnecessary whether you are exercising or not. The 1,200 goal already has a considerable caloric deficit built into it, there is absolutely ZERO reason you should be netting below 1,200 calories that unless you have a thyroid condition or other medical condition. Doing so for a short time probably won't be a big deal, but doing this for a significant amount of time can really cause some problems whether you're healthy right now or now. To boot, you're setting yourself up for future problems because you obviously don't understand what that 1,200 goal is...it's a weight loss goal, not a maintenance goal. Also, a GP isn't the best person to consult in RE to general nutrition and fitness; they simply don't specialize in such things.
Edit: after going back more than a couple of days, it looks like you come closer to your 1,200 calorie goal...at least the days I looked at. Good...when you said you usually eat way less than that I got a little worried. You should be eating 1,200 calories a day...no less (give or take a few calories).0 -
It's okay to allow treats as long as they are not everyday. Eat it with a salad and go for a walk later.0

You should try to get some exercise in. If you do decide to do this, make sure you eat them back. MFP expects you to eat your exercise calories back. Also, I noticed a couple days where you were under 1000. Please don't do that. Doing 1200-1300 is fine since your doctor approved it. But below that...don't..especially under 1000. I'm sure you doctor would agree with me on that.0

eat whatever you want if it fits your calories and macros. i mean you know, don't eat a slop mixture of whey powder, table salt, and lard, but you know...0
