Fitbit or Polar FT4?

So I just started MFP 10 days ago and am looking to get even more serious with my weight loss. Tomorrow I should be getting 30 Day Shred and Bob Harper's Beginner's weight loss DVDs in the mail. I'm still new to all these different options for exercise and thus far have stuck with walking the treadmill and shoveling snow as I know they are in the database and easy to track. I keep seeing and hearing that we should be looking into a HRM. Now my question is, which product should I get so that I can accurately track the number of calories I am burning? I work at a library where there is surprisingly less walking and moving around than I am used to at my past library jobs, so my workouts are done at home.

I have heard amazing things about the Polar FT4 and I have heard equally great things about the Fitbit (and the fact that Fitbit can sync with MFP is a nice bonus as well). What does everyone suggest? I'm thinking of purchasing this when I reach my first goal of 10 lbs.

Thanks!
