Starting MFP in September 2012 I was really motivated upped my classes at the gym and ate really healthy.

Around mid December 2012 I’d lost 17kg (37lb) put me down at around 81kg (178lb).

Then with all the Christmas holidays, cheer, dinners, lunches and parties I went up and down a few kg.

Now Xmas is over and I’m still struggling to keep on track. I’m still exercising daily doing strength and cardio burning between 500 and 700 cal a day. Eating relatively healthy but slipping when it comes to the odd bit of chocolate or extra carbs. I've broken back into some bad habits and now I just finding it hard to drop them and keep going.

I don't want to stay at 81kg I still want to loose roughly another 10 to 15 kg (22lb to 33lb)

Just wondering how everyone has kept on it…

  • Honestly, I'm tired of being the fat one so I'm really trying hard to make better choices. Instead of having a calorie laden snack before bed, I've been making herbal tea with stevia (zero calorie) as sweetner. I've started to look at food and ask myself "is it worth it?" and most of the time it is not. I've decided that 2013 is my year to be fabulous and healthy!

I lost 20lbs last year which is good but I know I can do better. My goal this year is to lose at least double that. I'm aiming to be 20 lbs less by the end of June. Then 40 lbs down by December.

What also helped me is I've been branching out in my workouts. I do yoga, kickboxing and zumba. I even gave a barre class (as in ballet) a try. Your body/muscles gets tired/bored of doing the same things all the time.

One more thing, I personally think MFP overestimates the amount of calories burned for a workout. So if I did 30 minutes of walking, I only input 20 minutes...This helps me anyway...

Good luck! You can do it:

whats your height and weight?how many calories do you eat?
what are your macros?if youre burning 500-700 calories do you eat your exercise calories back?Have you been on a very restrictive diet?Im not sure we can precisely say why you arent losing without knowing these.

if you only have 10-20 lbs to lose its a whole different game than restrictive diet.

Thanks everyone for your help

My height is about 174cm (5,8ish) currently weigh 80.3kg (177lb) I'm currently eating 1200 calories a day. Some days i go over some days I'm just under. I don't starve myself, I snack when I'm hungry.

I've got about 10 - 15kg to go (22 - 33lb) I'm just hoping i van get myself in the right mind frame to cut the sugar and processed foods.
