I have a whole tub of tubberware I use. From tiny little ounce-sized ones (for dips and dressings) to little 1/2 cup sizes (for fruit/veggies) -- to ones that have separate dividers to make little TV dinners out of leftovers. I have ones that hold sandwiches. Ones that are big enough to turn into little Americanized Bentos. I also have two lunch boxes to hold whatever I pack. So I basically have a little hoard of plastic that I can tuck my food away into.

When I'm making my lunch, I just get the tub out and pick out what I need for whatever I'm making. And at the end of the day I throw the used stuff into the dishwasher.

If it is something that needs heating, I put it in a glass pyrex container that has a plastic lid, or if it's soup or broth, I take it in 1 cup canning jars or Gladware and transfer it to a big microwavable mug before heating. I put cold meats, veggies and fruit in sandwich baggies. I put all these items in an insulated lunch bag with freezer packs.

Rubbermaid has boxed sets that are great. The lids stick to the bottoms to keep up with them easier. There are small containers for dressings and things like that. Bigger ones for other things. The thing I like about them also is that their capacity is on the bottom. This makes it easy for precise calorie calculations and portion control.

I adore my stainless steel PlanetBox. Quite expensive but goes in the dishwasher and will last forever, or at least a really really really long time. The original PlanetBox may not be big enough for everyone, so they've added a slightly larger one to their selection. You choose the magnets that decorate the box, and they even have draw-your-own now. (I should mention the magnets obviously don't go in the dishwasher, nor do the silicon seals for the interior containers.)

My husband and I use the PlanetBoxes for a "bar picnic" once in a while -- take munchies (some healthy, some not) to our neighborhood bar, where they let us bring in food. People always make a huge fuss over our containers!

I got a "Litter free lunch" lunchbox at Whole Foods and I love it. Come with containers in different sizes, a bottle for water, and Is big enough for everything I pack. (I eat breakfast, lunch and snacks at work) So, I love it. I also can't live without ziploc bags in all sizes.

I ended up sending mine back. It was too luggage like for my tastes, and the zippers and pockets felt like they took away from the functionality.

I have a mixture of plastic microwave safe containers for work. Sometimes the chines type are good for freezing , but I have some nice ones for salad and when I use leftovers from the night before. We have a pie warmer or can use a microwave at work. I have a big cooler bag to lug into work. I have a lot of little containers for little things. I have kids and use their stuff too. My hardest thing to find was drink bottles for stuff like milk or juice. I found some decore ones I like and that are easy to clean.
